The game was delayed 1:47 in the fifth when the umpires used replay to review the count on Tampa Bays Yunel Escobar and still ended up with incorrect information after the review. The umpires said the count was 3-2 when in fact Escobar had taken four balls. Escobar then struck out on a 4-2 pitch. "An error was made when replay officials and supervisors mistakenly thought one of the pitches was a foul ball when it was actually a ball," MLB said in a statement. Philadelphia will host Washington on Wednesday night, following the afternoon dealing deadline. MacDonald will bolster the Flyers defence corps as they push for a playoff spot. Philadelphia, which also has former Islanders defenceman Mark Streit on the back end, is currently in second place in the Metropolitan, one point ahead of the New York Rangers and two points above the post-season cutoff. Streit, who spent time as MacDonalds defence partner with New York, was traded to the Flyers last June after serving as Islanders team captain.
